KEY WEST: A state marine biologist died Thursday afternoon in a fiery crash on the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys.

Florida Fish & Wildlife employee Jeff Simonds, 31, was a passenger in a state SUV when the driver of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Elizabeth Overstreet, lost control.

The FWC vehicle was towing a boat at the time of the crash.

The SUV started to spin and struck a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Ruth Dearbury of Venice.

The boat the broke loose from the trailer and hit a Saturn driven by 64-year-old Paul Ciceri of Key West.

The FWC vehicle caught fire after the crash.
